SUMMARY

1. Mononeuropathy: only 1 nerve involved. Due to entrapment, focal ischemia or trauma.

2. Polyneuropathy/Peripheral neuropathy: peripheral nerves symmetrically and diffusely involved. Distal segments more than proximal.

2.1. Mononeuritis multiplex: 2 or more nerves involved. Due to systemic disorders resulting in vasculitis or vascular occlusion of the vasa nervosum, such as in DM or vasculitis.

2.2. Plexopathy: involvement of a plexus.
