MND-PEG TUBE INSERTION
SUMMARY
Factors to discuss with the patient before PEG tube insertion:
1. Rate of progression of disease: if dz rapidly progresses, the patient may not gain benefits of PEG
2. Respiratory status: little use for PEG if respiratory failure already present
3. Nutritional states and weight
4. Patient preference
5. Caregiver support
