SUMMARY

1. Nephritic pattern has < 2gm proteinuria + "active" urine sediment.
2. "Active sediment" is urine containing (1) proteinuria; (2) red cells > I0/hpf; (3) white cells; (4) and often red cell, white cell, or granular casts.
