PROXIMAL RADIOULNAR JOINT

SUMMARY

1. The annular ligament is essential structure, it is attached to the radial notch of the ulnar and imprisons the head and neck of the radius which rotates freely within it.
2. The proximal radioulnar joint & elbow joint form one continuous synovial cavity.
3. The synovial membrane is supported inferiorly by the quadrate ligament: from the radial neck to the supinator fossa of the ulnar.

4. Nerve supply: musculocutaneous n., radial n., ulnar n. & median n.
