AUTOREGULATION-NITRIC OXIDE (NO)

SUMMARY
1. NO is synthesized from argenine, catalyzed by nitric oxide synthase (NOS).
2. The NO that is formed in endothelium diffuses to smooth muscle cells, activates cGMP & leads to relaxation.
3. NO is inactivated by Hb.
