SUMMARY
1. O: ischeal spine.
2. I: together with the obturator internus and inferior gamelli (forming the tricipital tendon) it is inserted into the medial surface of the greater trochanter.
3. NS: nerve to obturator internus.
4. A: externally rotates the hip.
