SUMMARY

1. Present with painful catching of the hip, especially when the hip is at a particular angle.

2. Femoral–acetabular grind maneuvers might reproduce symptoms.

3. Hx and PE are less specific as the hip joint is larger.

4. MRI is the dx of choice, arthroscopy or open surgery.

5. Management - conservative with analgesia and rest or arthroscopic repair/surgical repair.
