SUMMARY

DEFINITION (EITHER OF THE FOLLOWING):
1. Kidney damage > 3 months, with or without decreased GFR with pathological abnormalities or markers of kidney damage2. GFR < 60 mL/min/1.73m2 for > 3 months, with or without kidney damage

CKD STAGES:
• Stage 1 = normal GFR
• Stage 2 = GFR 60-89 mL/min/1.73m2 body surface area
• Stage 3 = GFR 30-59
• Stage 4 = GFR 15-29
• Stage 5 = GFR < 15 or on dialysis
