TIBIAL NERVE

SUMMARY
1. Origin: L4, L5, S1, S2, S3.
2. One of two branches of the sciatic nerve (the other is the Common Peroneal nerve).
3. Motor supply responsible for plantar-flexion & inversion of the foot.
4. Sensory: supplies the skin of the flexor part of the calf and the sole of the foot to around the toes (medial side and plantar surface of the heel).
5. Articular: branches to the hip, knee, ankles and foot joints.
