SUMMARY
1. O: lateral head - proximal to the lateral femoral condyle. Medial head - proximal to the medial femoral condyle.
2. I: join the soleal tendon to insert into the tuber calcanei.
3. NS: tibital n.
4. A: plantar flexion of foot; assists flexion of knee.
