SUMMARY


1. O: ischeal tuberosity, margin of the lesser sciatic notch. 
2. I: together with the obturator internus and superior gamelli (forming the tricipital tendon) it is inserted into the medial surface of the greater trochanter.
3. NS: nerve to the quadratus femoris (closer to the quadratus femoris).
4. A: externally rotates the hip.
