SUMMARY

CHADS2 SCORE
1. Congestive cardiac failure (EF < 35%): 1 point
2. Hypertension (SBP > 160mmHg or treated hypertension): 1 point
3. Age >= 75yr: 1 point
4. Diabetes: 1 point
5. Stroke (prior stroke or TIA): 2 points

CHADS2 TREATMENT RECOMMENDATIONS (Gage et al, Selecting patients with AF for anticoagulation: stroke risk stratification in patients taking Aspirin)
1. SCORE 0: Aspirin 75-80mg daily
2. SCORE 1-2: Aspirin 75-80mg daily OR Warfarin target INR 2-3
3. SCORE 3-6: Warfarin target INR 2-3
