SUMMARY

1. Aldosterone is the hormone that regulates potassium level.

2. K+ secretion occurs in the late distal tubule and cortical collecting duct via aldosterone-regulated Na+/K+ active transport.

3. Increase uptake into muscle and other tissues: insulin, aldosterone, catecholamines, growth hormones, alkalosis.
