1. Measures cardiac muscle depolarization, not the signal transmitted through the conduction system.

COMPONENTS
2. P wave: sequential depolarization of the atria.
3. QRS complex: sequential depolarization of the ventricles.
4. ST segment & T waves: ventricular repolarization.

INTERVALS
5. PR interval: interval from onset of atrial to ventricular depolarisation.
6. QT interval: duration of ventricular depolarisation & repolarisation.
7. QRS duration: duration of ventricular depolarisation.
8. RR interval: duration of ventricular cycle.
9. PP interval: duration of atrial cycle.
