SUMMARY


3 factors that prevent the lateral dislocation of the patella:
1. Bony - prominence of the lateral femoral condyle. 
2. Muscular - lowest fibers of the vastus medialis. 
3. Ligamentous - tension of the medial patellar retinaculum.
