SUMMARY

1. Alcoholism with malnutrition.
2. Re-feeding syndrome which can lead to intracellular shifting of phosphate. This is because, as the glycogen level is returned to normal, the muscle cells become anabolic and take up phosphate, thereby reducing serum levels.
3. Alcoholic ketoacidosis.
