Any condition that causes sensory or autonomic neuropathy can lead to a Charcot joint:
1. Diabetes - most common cause[1]
2. Syphilis
3. Chronic alcoholism
4. Leprosy
5. Meningomyelocele
6. Spinal cord injury
7. Syringomyelia
8. Renal dialysis
9. Congenital insensitivity to pain
10. Rheumatoid arthritis[2]
