SUMMARY

1. Essential for normal muscle and nerve activity, transiently increases myocardial contractility & excitability.
2. Indications: hyperkalemia, hypocalcemia, overdose of CCB.
3. SE: vasodilatation assoc. with rapid infusion, AMI/stroke, tissue necrosis with extravasation.
