SUMMARY
1.The only way to redirect the needle is to retract and redirect it.
2. If the needle is at a safe depth, it can be easily redirected to a similar safe depth by pinching it at the skin surface to mark the depth, retracting it, and advancing it until the same location is reached at the same fingertip depth.
