Outlined below is a simple guide to styling articles on NeuroRehab.net:

2.1 Article Title

The title length is limited to 5 words, to ensure focus, brevity and easy search-engine accessibility. Please do not include headers, footers or footnotes.

2.2 Article Text

Articles should follow internationally accepted, scholarly academic style. In most circumstances, write in the third person, past tense.

This includes: - Use generic names when referring to medicines; do not use brand or trade names, do not capitalise and check spelling is correct to avoid misinterpretation - Use acronyms and abbreviations sparingly; spell out all acronyms and abbreviations in full at the first reference - Clearly indicate headings and subheadings - Label all tables, boxes and figures and include references to the tables, boxes and figures in numerical order in the text - Ensure all medical claims and statements are referenced wherever possible

2.3 References

Use the Vancouver referencing style wherever possible. References should be included beside statements using the <ref></ref> tags (by clicking the ‘Reference’ button in the Wiki Editor). For example:

This is a sample statement <ref>Smith, J., Sample Journal, 2022</ref>

Mediawiki automatically organizes them in order of occurrence as a footnote to the page.

2.4 Tables, boxes and figures

Tables, boxes, images, figures and illustrations are used to support the text without duplicating its content. Each must have an in-text reference and/or a caption. It is recommended that all tables, graphs and flow-charts be uploaded as images as uploading their native form may render them inaccessible to readers. Ensure that all images are legitimate, original and do not infringe intellectual property rights of any third party. Contributing users should be attributed appropriately and uploaded material should not be copyrighted.
