Causes of acute deterioration (4H's & 4T's):
1. H: Hypovolaemia
2. H: Hypo/hyperkalaemia/metabolic disorders
3. H: Hypoxaemia
4. H: Hypo/hyperthermia
1. T: Thrombosis
2. T: Tension pneumothorax
3. T: Toxins/medications
4. T: Tamponade (assess for Beck's triad)
