Dr Manickam's interests are in neurointervention, managing acute stroke, movement disorders, spinal injury and the applications of artificial intelligence in medicine.

He tailored his training towards achieving this goal, having completed Rehabilitation Medicine training, radiology anatomy and physics courses, surgical and critical care courses. He has also worked in neurosurgery and ICU for 6 years, published in various neurology & neurosurgical journals and presented in neurosurgical & radiology conferences.

He completed the Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship (in August 2022) and concurrently commenced Basic Physician Training in August 2021 at the Liverpool Hospital, Sydney. Dr Manickam is  currently a part-time Rehabilitation Staff Specialist at the Spinal Injury Unit, Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney.
He completed his Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship in August 2022, concurrently commenced Basic Physician Training in August 2021 at the Liverpool Hospital (Sydney) and Pain Fellowship in November 2022 at the Prince of Wales Hospital (Sydney). Dr Manickam currently divides his time between being a part-time Rehabilitation Staff Specialist at the Spinal Injuries Unit, Prince of Wales Hospital, pain fellowship and physician training. He also organizes the Australian Rehabilitation College Faculty training program for NSW.

Clinical Statement

Dr Manickam's interests are in managing acute stroke, stroke & spinal injury rehabilitation, pain management, movement disorders and the applications of artificial intelligence in medicine.
