SUMMARY

1. From each of the 4 FDP tendons arises a lumbrical which passes along the radial side of the MCPJ.

2. On the palmar surface of the deep transverse metacarpal ligament, each develops a tendon which runs in a fibrous lumbrical canal to reach the extensor expansion on the dorsum of the 1st phalanx.

3. 2 ulnar lumbricals are innervated by ulnar n. & 2 radial lumbricals are innervated by median n.

4. These flex the MCPJ.
