SUMMARY
2 ARTICULAR BRANCHES
1. Upper genicular branch.
2. Lower genicular branch.
3 CUTANEOUS BRANCHES
1. Peroneal communicating nerve - joins the sural nerve.
2. Lateral cutaneous nerve of the calf - supplies the skin over the upper half of the peroneal compartment.
3. Recurrent genicular nerve.
2 TERMINAL BRANCHES
1. Deep peroneal - sensory supply to the periosteum, ligaments of the tibia & dorsum of the foot. Motor supply to all the muscles of the anterior compartment of the leg.
2. Superficial peroneal nerve - skin over the peroneal compartment & 2,3,4 interdigital spaces. Motor supply to all muscles of the lateral compartment of the leg.
