SUMMARY

1. Depresses conduction through the AV node.
2. In paroxysmal SVT it can interrupt re-entry circuits involving AV nodes and restore normal sinus rhythm.
3. Indication: SVT.

SE
4. CVS: facial flushing, headache, hypotension, transient asystole.
5. Respiratory: dyspnoea, hyperventilation.
6. CNS: giddiness, blurring of vision.
7. GIT: metallic taste, tightness in the throat.

DOSAGE
8. 3mg - 6mg - 12mg boluses up to 2min apart.
