SUMMARY
1. Deepest neurovascular structure in the popliteal fossa.
2. Passes from the ADDUCTOR MAGNUS hiatus to the SOLEAL ARCH.
3. It enters the fossa on the medial side of the sciatic n. => crosses laterally underneath to lie lateral to the tibial n. => below the soleal arch the PTA returns to the medial side of the tibial n.
4. At all levels the popliteal vein lies b/w the artery and nerve.
5. It terminates as the ATA and PTA under the soleal arch.
