SUMMARY
ABDUCTOR POLLICIS LONGUS
1. O: oblique area of radius, ulna & interosseous membrane.
2. I: trapezium & 1st MC base.
3. NS: posterior interosseous branch of radial n.
4. A: abducts thumb & wrist. It can assist in abducting and flexing the wrist, producing a 'trick' flexion when other flexors are paralysed.
