<i>ABNORMALITIES</i>
<br/>1. Flexed posture of the trunk.
<br/>2. Vaulting on the prosthetic leg.
<br/>3. Rising on toe of sound foot permits amputee to swing prosthesis through with little knee flexion.
<br/>
<br/><i>CAUSES</i>
<br/>1. Prosthesis may be too long.
<br/>2. Socket suspension may be inadequate.
<br/>3. Excessive stability in alignment or some limitation of knee flexion, such as knee lock or strong extension aid, may cause this deficit.
<br/>
<br/>4. Flexion contracture of the hip.
<br/>5. Vaulting is fairly frequent habit pattern.
<br/>6. Residual stump discomfort.
