<i>STRAP SUSPENSION</i>
<br/>1. Suprapatellar suspension strap.

<br/><i>BRIM SUSPENSION</i>
<br/>2. Supracondylar brim suspension/supracondylar wedge (PTB-SC): PTB socket with medial and lateral walls extending above the femoral condyles for suspension. Instead of removable medial brim or wedge, a compressible foam wedge build-up may be incorporated into the soft liner.
<br/>
<br/>3. Supracondylar-suprapatellar brim suspension (Patella Tendon Bearing Kegel, PTK): Similar to the PTB-SC socket with the addition of suprapatellar trim lines which improve suspension, designed for short stumps, difficult to sit on.
<br/>
<br/><i>SLEEVE SUSPENSION</i>
<br/>4. Sleeves made of neoprene, rubber, latex or silicone (e.g. Icelandic Roll-On Silicone Suspension [ICEROSS] with pin lock or Velcro strap) may be used as a primary suspension system or in combination with other mechanisms.

<br/><i>PIN &amp; VACUUM SUSPENSION</i>
<br/>5. Pin suspension: design includes a silicone or other gel insert/liner with an attached distal pin that locks into the bottom of the plastic laminated socket.
<br/>
<br/>6. Vacuum suspension: design includes a silicone or other gel insert or liner with the use of a one-way expulsion valve in the distal aspect of the socket.
<br/>
<br/><i>THIGH LACERS</i>
<br/>7. Thigh lacers: Connects a leather thigh (femoral) corset to a PTB prosthesis through metal joints and side bars, not used frequently these days.
