1. Have a higher likelihood of delayed union, nonunion, or avascular necrosis than other stress fractures.

<br/>2. Radiographs are often normal, and an MRI or bone scan might be necessary to confirm the diagnosis.
<br/>
<br/>3. Dorsal navicular fractures have the best prognosis, healing by 3 months.
<br/>
<br/>4. Fractures that propagate across the body to involve another cortex have poorer prognosis. 
<br/>
<br/>5. Initial management of these fractures consists of non–weight-bearing with boot immobilization for 6 to 8 weeks. 
<br/>
<br/>6. If symptoms persist, consider ORIF.
